A Galveston, Texas-based group has commissioned a massive art installation and "storytelling space" in Galveston, focusing on the genesis, historical, and contemporary relevance, and legacy of Juneteenth, which originated in Galveston. The project, “Absolute Equality,” is scheduled to be introduced on January 31, 2021, with the permanent installation unveiled on June 19, 2021.
